Voting Question: Why areTaliban of Afghanistan called terrorists when they were actually rulers & gave best peace for 6 years?

Taliban ruled Afghanistan till 2001 for about 6 years in most difficult time when that country was facing draught for about 5 years & provided best peace till then & till now too as has been proved practically. Even before 9/11, USA was indirectly supporting & accepting them as right rulers. Before their arrival, from the day of final withdrawal of troops of Russia, many goups, factions & Najibullah's regime every killed 3,00,000 people making no change after Soviet leave & people desperately wanted peace. Taliban filled the vacuum so nicely that Kabul was captured with negligible bloodshed with butcher Najibullah(pro-Soviet) hiding in UN building & UNO shamelessly sheltered him. They could have overrun Mazare Sharif had Iran not meddled illegally by militarily supporting Hizbe Wahdat of Shias having less than 5 % people support. India opened embassy there as if they were legitimate rulers of WHOLE Afghanistan, bypassing 95 % country, what a 'democratic' action by the so called largest democracy. Taliban never harboured or supported Al-Quaida or Usamah(American supported Mujahid to root out Soviets illegally occupying Afghanistan since 27 th Dec., 1979) rather, said that he was just like a guest to help expelling Soviets & snatched every facilities, even his mobile phone too. Indian dealt with Taliban too secretly for gas pipeline & Indian newspapers too appreciated Taliban in over 1000 article & reports stating that they provided best possible peace. Leading newspaper 'The Times of India' too wrote so many times. BBC & CNN too reported so. Only after 9/11, suddenly, for 'chamchagiri'(psychophancy) of USA sake, they(Indians) suddenly started branding Taliban as 'terrorists' though they were people of Afghanistan only who were fighting against outsiders to keep their possess country. That was sudden opportunistic U - turn. Even during bombing Afghanistan, USA said that it will consider 'Moderate Talibans' for future administration set up but surprisingly, India branded whole Taliban as terrorists. I ask Indians. If by chance China captures entire India, imposes her rule there & a civil war of local Indian rebels against Chinese breaks out inside India to expell them out like 'Mujahideen' groups of Afghanistan as many groups including Taliban did, will those Indian groups be called terrorists ? Why has USA now started harping that without Taliban, no lasting peace is possible & one great personality even said too that the west in Afghanistan is a defeated force ? Taliban ruled period was free from every crimes before & after their rule & crimes in the west where there are 5 rapes perminute. untrue propaganda of Fox News of lengthy, boring & illogical speeches of great idiots cannot change the reality. 9/11 was NOT done by Arabs who cannot be so efficient. Where were 300 Israelis of WTC ? Can petrols provide 1000 degree temperature for melting of steel girders in WTC to melt for falling down ? Were not there explosions in lowest floor to do the work ? Where were 3000 & not 300 Israelis every absent from WTC ? Petrol of planes can give only 275 degree temperature. What is the proof that Taliban harboured WTC episode ? Only fabricated FBI propaganda that few passengers in a plane said on mobile phones to relatives that Arab like looking boys overpowered pilots ? Why did then a big industrialist wrote a big book on this & promised a big award if one proves Bush theory. He asked many logical questions saying Bush himself is involved in invasion, every un - answered till now. Afghnaistan's future, people there will decide, not outsiders who know little the culture of that. It is a proven fact of history of 1000 years that no external force could win any war in Afghanistan & was surely defeated. So will be the case against USA as warned by Hamid Gul, chief architect of Soviet Union's thrashing defeat there. USA was never mover of events there. USA started feeling similar thrashing defeat there now. First clearly define terrorism & every actions of the west too in the whole world from World War 2. Prove logically what action was terrorism & what was not. America is NO LONGER map maker after her thrashing defeat in Vietnam. This MUST be FULLY CLEASR. Those whose economy is based on compound interest lootong indiscriminately the difficult working poors, talk of morality & standard principles. Inflation & interest on money are EVILS of economic sustem NOT standard parameters. West first correct their systems to better principled & morality based ones before lecturing & dictating terms to others. In future China & Malaysia will leave USA & Europe far behind like beggars, before 2050. None answered every question raised ? Everyone deliberately avoided the very important question. "IF CHINA INVADES, CAPTURES INDIA, DESTROYS ENTIRE INDIAN ARMY(WHICH SHE CAN DO WITHIN 15 MINUTES), IMPOSES HER RULE THERE IN THE SAME MANNER AS SOVIETS DID IN AFGHANISTAN SINCE 1979 & IF INDIAN CIVILIANS START FIGHTING CIVIL WAR TO LIBERATE INDIA FROM OUTSIDERS AS AFGHAN MUJAHIDEEN GROUPS DID(TALIBAN MUJAHIDEEN GROUP WAS THE LAST ONE OF THEM DOING MINIMUM DAMAGE & LOSSES OF LIFE AS COMPARED TO OTHERS, RECORDS PROVE SO), WILL THOSE INDIANS BE CALLED TERRORISTS ? Answer MUST be only YES or NO , nothing else. Will every answerers modify their answer on this point. I know exact psychologeis of both people of the east & the west & know very well what nice of treachery & opportunism both follow & to what extent while talking politics, devoid of logic, reasoning, honesty & justice.

Resolved Question: Why women know their place?

A point of view... Barbara Walters of 20/20 did a story on gender roles in Kabul, Afghanistan several years before the Afghan conflict. She noted that women customarily walked five paces behind their husbands. She recently returned to Kabul and observed that women still walk behind their husbands. From Miss Walters' vantage point, despite the overthrow of the oppressive Taliban regime, the women now seem to walk even further back behind their husbands, and are glad to maintain the old custom. Miss Walters approached one of the Afghan women and asked, 'Why do you now seem glad with an old custom that you once tried so desperately to change?' The lady looked Miss Walters straight in the eyes, and without hesitation said, 'Land Mines.'

I've gotten complains about:"We can't do your homework for you." I'd like to point out that I've made it clear. If you're going to help me, then "Thank you!" 1.Which country has the largest land area in Eastern hemisphere? 2.Which nation is farther north, Egypt or Greece? 3.Bogota is to Colombia as_______________is to India. 4.Tropical rain forests grow in hot areas close the equator that have no dry season. Where would you be likely to find such a forest, in Brazil or Egypt? 5.What is the line of longitude that passes through Greenwich, England called? 6.Kabul is the capital of the country that borders Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran, & Pakistan. What is the country's name? 7. When you look for city populations in an almanac, you may look figures for metropolitan areas. What is a metropolitan area? 8. Tunis is the capital of what country? Resolved Question: Does the US only have a long term strategy of defeat in Afghanistan?

Do you feel we are getting anywhere in Afghanistan? The taliban controls half of afghanistan, in the day and night time. Westerners can't even walk through Kandahar at anytime. Kabul is below siege. What has the united states achieved? We are supporting one of the most corrupt governments in afghanistan history. The people are not seeing any development to their lives, why should they care for the US? I think we need atleast 500,000 troops in afghanistan to stablize in the long term. Or we need to negotiate with the taliban to bring about a long term solution. Plus the aggressive posturing in Pakistan is detrimental to achieving any security in that region long term. Pakistan has a huge army, with a population of 173 million, thats six times the popultion of Iraq. There is no way in the world we could sustain such an occupation.

Resolved Question: Can anyone proofread my english Story?

Can anyone check for grammar mistake I might have made? Laila without you life is not worth living and that is tragic because I have not seen you in quite some time. I still remember the times we shared together when went to look movies about people in adore, and these memories only make me think more about you Laila. We never were able to say goodbye to one another, as my family left Kabul for Pakistan while your family stayed there. Yet we were able to embrace in a moment of passion which seems to become more distant for me as time passes yet I still try to remember it. Laila you are still precious to me and even though I only have one leg I can still you that to defend you, just as I protected you from those boys. I know that perhaps you may have forgotten about me since you are so smart and are probably working in a career, remember how you would arrive after school to my home tutor me after school and then we would play card games with my parents. But please if you have time read this letter. Things for me have not gone so well. After we left Kabul for Pakistan my parents and I ended up in a refugee camp. It is really difficult to describe the horrors we suffered there and to be honest I do not wish to discuss them. But if we are to look each other again I think I have an obligation to tell you what has occurred with my life since we parted ways. After the Jihad ended and the soviets left Afghanistan the interest of Afghani refugees declined. I still remember the day the soviets left Kabul I was wearing that bear fur cap, which you called silly. My parents and I were forced to stay in a refugee camp in Pakistan called Nasir Bagh honestly every I can remember from my time there is the color brown, brown tents, brown people, and brown porridge. It was a nightmare and many people died there yet I made it through that difficult time by thinking of you and perhaps our eventual reunion. Among those to die there were my dad, I’m sorry you have to hear this Laila but it is the truth. To try to help my mom and escape this living hell of the refugee camp I became involved in things that I am not proud of Laila. I cannot lie to you if we are to continue to ever have a relationship. I agreed to deliver a package for a store keeper, in exchange promised me enough money so that I could rent an apartment for my mom. But like an idiot I was caught by the police. Now I am ashamed to tell you where I am writing this letter from. I am writing this letter from prison yet even these icy walls can contain my adore for you Laila. I do not know if this letter will reach you as the guards are known to confiscate mail, but if It does please write me back.

Resolved Question: UK Charity Worker Was Killed In Kabul?

A lady working for a UK-registered charity has been shot dead close Kabul University in the Afghan capital. Gayle Williams, 34, was a UK and South African national. She was killed by two men on a motorbike, witnesses told the BBC. The Taleban are reported to have said they killed her because she was working for a Christian organisation called Serve Afghanistan. In August the Taleban killed three foreign women close Kabul. Further worries Ms Williams was killed while walking to work, police said. An eyewitness told the BBC that two men on a motorbike drew alongside her. One man then got off the motorbike and shot her at close range before jumping back on the bike and escaping. Mike Lyth paid tribute to Ms Williams kids on the road going to school also saw the incident. "Some bullets hit her body and some hit her leg and when police got there she was dead," interior ministry spokesman Zemarai Bashary told the AFP news agency. The BBC's Martin Patience in Kabul says this is not the first time that a foreigner has been killed in the Afghan capital by armed men. But the incident will lift further concerns about the security situation in Afghanistan, our correspondent says. In the past week, there have been three assassinations in the southern city of Kandahar, every carried out by men on motorbikes. Operations suspended Serve Afghanistan is a UK registered charity whose overseas staff are volunteers. It focuses on education and training for people with disabilities. The charity's chairman, Mike Lyth, said the staff and volunteers were in shock over the killing. Police at the scene of the shooting He said: "She had been there for about two-and-a-half-years and was managing a community development project focused on disabled people. "We are deeply saddened about what has happened. She was absolutely lovely and was full of life. A sportswoman and mountaineer - she just loved that sort of thing. "The thought of Afghanistan must have seemed an adventure for her." Taleban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid told AFP that they killed Ms Williams "because she was working for an organisation which was preaching Christianity in Afghanistan". Mr Lyth believed more attacks were imminent and said: "It is happening increasingly often in countries like Afghanistan. It is a policy of the Taleban to destabilise and knock the government by knocking out every of the aid and NGOs working there." He said Ms Williams's fellow volunteers needed to discuss their next course of action. In August another aid group, the International Rescue Committee, suspended operations after three of its foreign female staff - a British-Canadian, a Canadian and a Trinidadian-American - were shot with their Afghan driver close to Kabul. The Taleban claimed responsibility for that attack, saying the women were foreign spies. What do you think of this? Does it not view muslims in a bad way? Why would they kill a lady who was preaching about christainity? Is it wrong for someone to tutor someone about a different religion other than islam?

Resolved Question: Should charitable Christian organisations be using the crises in Afghanistan to 'spread Christianity ?

We read with sorrow that British/South African aid worker Gayle Williams was shot dead on a Kabul road by 'Taliban forces' for 'spreading Christianity. In no way condoning the death of Gayle Williams, but should so called 'aid agencies' run by Christian organisations be using their presence in a Muslim country in turmoil to be spreading the Christian faith ? surely being a religious aid organisation in such circumstances is inflamatory ? Resolved Question: Does the American public believe that there will be a military victory in Afghanistan?

I don't think so. I don't think we will defeat the Taliban in the long term. Kandahar is run by the Taliban, day and night, its almost impossible for westerners to walk around there. Kabul is below siege from the north west and south at night. Afghanistan is a land that just can't be conquered. Logistically its very difficult. It takes up too many resources. The Greeks, the Persians, the British, the Russians every failed. Why does this coalition think it will succeed. Here is my solution. clip off the life line of the Taliban, legalize the poppy crop. This is the only thing Afghanistan really produces. Legalize it and give contracts to local companies to make it into morphine. This will provide jobs for the local population, encourge developement and investment and take away the power of the warlords. Also there are some factions of the Taliban which are worth negotiating with. They are just frustated with the corruption of the national government. The Taliban of 2001 does not exsist anymore as a organization.

Resolved Question: What does it mean when our own military officers suggest our governmental leaders are war criminals?

Mohammed Jawad, an Afghan accused of throwing a grenade at a convoy of American soldiers in Kabul in tardy 2002, wounding two, was brought to the Guantánamo Bay prison camp in February 2003. He was then seventeen years old...We know about what was done to Mr. Jawad because the military lawyer assigned as his defense counsel, Major David J.R. Frakt (Air Force Reserve), sought and won from a military judge an order for his jailers to produce the records of his captivity. "Why was Mohammed Jawad tortured?" Major Frakt asked..."The most likely scenario," Major Frakt said, "is that they simply decided to torture Mr. Jawad for sport, to tutor him a lesson, perhaps to make an example of him to others." But Major Frakt did not cease with those who tormented Mohammed Jawad. He addressed President Bush's order of February 7, 2002, that those detained at Guantánamo as alleged al-Qaeda or Taliban members and supporters were not to be given the protections of the Geneva Conventions. "February 7, 2002," he said, America lost a little of its greatness that day. We lost our position as the world's leading defender of human rights, as the champion of justice and fairness and the rule of law.... Sadly, this military commission [which was holding the Jawad hearing] has no power to do anything to the enablers of torture such as John Yoo, Jay Bybee, Robert Delahunty, Alberto Gonzales..., David Addington, William Haynes, Vice President Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld...." So...is "enabling" torture constitute a war crime? Major Frakt certainly thinks so. Should we respect his view or dismiss his view? http://www.nybooks.com/articles/21794 So, because Frakt has an opinion that indicates that our political leaders behaved illegally and immorally, he is automatically a left-wing, liberal, muslim, america-hating terrorist-lover? Do you lot even know what an "ad hominum" attack is?

Voting Question: Why do men think that war can be justified?

Why is to so easy for some men just to send soldiers into war. Its so silly we live here in America, not knowing what war is, never been in one, and never been on the losing side. And yes, I 100% agree that our soldiers and the standing of our nation's military is what keeps us having this utopian sense of reality, which is not held in most of the world. However, I do not believe in the countless useless wars that America has entered into history in the name of "peace" and "justice." How many Americans have lost their kids in war? How many of you fathers have been helpless in being able to defend and provide for your family? How many of you Americans have lost your livelihoods due to a misplaced "smart bomb." How many of you have gone outside your homes and been told to go back inside by a faceless man? How many of you have a tank sitting outside your driveway? How many of your daughters are raped in the name of "war?" How many of your kids eat grains of flour right off the road? Its silly how people in this country justify war as a way to "protect themselves" when they've never experienced the consequences of war. I want to take every neo-conservative war hawk and put them and their families in the middle of the Congo, or in the streets of Kabul, or the tiny towns of Georgia and look if their view of war is the same. This is not a rant against our US military. The men & women of the armed services do a fine job and when given a mission they will accomplish it, whether its justified or not, because it is their job and it is how they are trained. May God Bless them & God curse those who profit from other peoples suffering in the name of their possess security.

Voting Question: Can anyone translate this love letter from turkish to english please?

Sen hangisini yaşıyorsun şu an? Ben seni yaşıyorum birtanem.

Resolved Question: Could you imagine being attacked by the Taliban because they don't permit women to attend school?

This is truly a crime against humanity. Even though our government doesn't consider the Taliban to be terrorist, they're still "extremist" in their treatment of women: Reporters interview Shamsia (C), 17, victim of an acid attack by the Taliban, at a hospital in Kabul November 15, 2008. The Taliban, which does not allow women to attend school, attacked Shamsia two days ago as she was on her way to class, according to police. http://news.yahoo.com/nphotos/Afghanistan/ss/events/wl/08072001afghanistan;_ylt=Al2ccwR4017hOHJoaSeBPtP9xg8F#photoViewer=/081115/photos_wl/2008_11_15t035144_450x313_us_afghan_acid (Omar Sobhani/Reuters)

Resolved Question: Can someone read through my essay? its on Kite runner?

Any spelling or grammatical help would be really awesome. My teacher is such a difficult marker and I loose so many marks because of it. And if anyone could point out parts that confuse them or just dont work would be so amazing. =) To live with courage is to face the imperfections which adorn our lives, and learn to embrace them as who we are. Burdened with his dad’s irrational expectations, Amir, the leading protagonist in Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner, breaks free of his dad’s dream of who he is to become and matures into the man he wishes to be. Respected and valued by the people of Kabul, Baba desires for his possess personal attributes to echo through to his son, Amir. In an almost arrogant manner, Baba expresses quite visibly the distaste that he holds towards his possess son. Unaware of Amir’s presence, Baba confides to a close pal, “Sometimes I look out this window and look him playing on the road with the neighborhood boys, I look how they push him around, take his toys from him…and, you know, he never fights back. Never” (22). Compliantly, Amir sees himself through the eyes of his dad. He is an embarrassment, a coward. Where most parents would cherish their kids for their individual qualities, Baba places a burden on Amir to leave who he is behind, and become the man his dad wishes him to be. With these unreasonable expectations set before him, it is easy to look how a child as young as Amir would run from the pressure both Baba and the Kabul society have placed upon him. Striving for his dad’s affection and pride, Amir finds himself presented with a distressing realization as he compares himself to his life-long play mate, Hassan. In Baba’s eyes, where Amir is cowardly and weak, Hassan is like Baba, courageous and strong. Searching for a reason behind his dad’s affection toward the Hazara servant boy, Amir inwardly bickers, reasoning to himself “Hassan hadn’t done anything to earn Baba’s affection: he’d just been born a stupid harelip” (46). As jealousy grows within him, Amir begins to tear himself away from Hassan and their unspoken friendship. In final parting act to his friendship Amir kneeled to watch as “Hassan lay with his chest pinned to the ground… Assef was standing over [him], the heel of his snow boots crushing the back of Hassan’s neck” (75). With the desire to win his dad’s respect, it would be this sacrifice of friendship which would loom over him for the next twenty-six years, but yet destine him to be a man of courage. A symbol of success and power, Baba is portrayed to be a man of courage and strength but in truth he is a coward. Though Baba reasons that “if [he] hadn’t seen the doctor tug [Amir] out of [his] wife with [his] possess eyes, [he’d] never believe [Amir to be his] son” (23). Amir is his more like dad then either is willing to accept. Concealed behind a veil of power and wealth, Baba, like Amir, hides from past mistakes and fears to break away from the boundaries of social class. Where Baba has failed to grow past his faults, Amir has learned to accept his possess imperfections and breaks free of the sins of his past to become more than his dad ever was. To recognize the challenges we bring upon ourselves, and yet still persist in growing into who we wish to be, is courage beyond that of a fairy tale hero. I also hate the word "adorn" in my first sentence, so any suggestions of words I could use instead would be great! And any ideas for something other then fairy tale hero at the end

Resolved Question: Its only a joke ...women who know their place??

WOMEN WHO KNOW THEIR PLACE Barbara Walters of Television's 20/20 did a story on gender roles in Kabul, Afghanistan several years before the Afghan conflict. Miss Walters approached one of the Afghani women and asked, 'Why do you now seem glad with an old custom that you once tried so desperately to change?' The lady looked Miss Walters straight in the eyes, and without hesitation said..... 'Land Mines.' Moral of the story is (no matter where you go) BEHIND EVERY MAN, THERE'S A SMARTER lady! ok now stars for this one You know your laughing!!!!!!
